All these ingredients make the cake look very heavy, moist and dense. Some people love this lavish treat while the others resort to the lighter version.
Cakes are best made two months in advance if possible, so that it can mature and taste delicious at Christmas. After Christmas you can wrap it and store them in the fridge, provided that you take them out every month and sprinkle some liquor on them.
