Dealing with constipation is a great concern for many population especially for those who taste this pain frequently.
There are many known methods of treating constipation like expanding fiber intake, expanding water intake and exercising but there is a treatment that is not ordinarily followed. What is this?

Prunes are nothing else but good in treating constipation as it is rich in dietary fiber. This fruit is also rich in potassium and vitamin A. Aside from these; it is also rich in minerals that begin important enzymes in the intestines. These enzymes break down the wastes in the colon to make them easier to move out and defecate.
The potassium in prunes also carries water into the colon and defends the colon walls from bad bacteria.
A lot of population take laxatives as means of treating constipation but do you know that prunes are a natural laxative?
It is best than taking processed stimulates that cause harm to intestinal muscles. Prunes as natural laxatives don't cause dehydration and diarrhea like chemical laxatives do. When treating constipation with prunes as laxatives, you can take the fruit raw, dried or squeezed for its juice.
Just remember to increase your water intake when treating constipation with prunes though. Water keeps the body well hydrated so as to allow the minerals and the potassium in prunes work best in relieving your pain from infrequent bowel movements.
You must take care not to eat too much of this fruit however. Prunes when taken in excess tend to cause gas and stomach cramps.
The fruit also contains oxalates that can cause some problems in calcium absorption in the body. If oxalate accumulates within the body, it can solidify calcium so the body is prevented from absorbing it.
Treating constipation with prunes is can nothing else but give good results but moderation must still be observed as with any other kinds of treatments. Remember: too much of a good thing is bad.
